The Holly King: 28 Poems & Other Publishing Updates
Limited Edition Poems, Publishing October 2022
The next ‘official’ column is coming up on the 15th, but…
If you read this column regularly, you might know that my primary work as a writer has been as a novelist. In January of this year, my sixth novel The Moth for the Star was acquired by 7.13 Books for publication in the summer of 2023. Last month, I completed the manuscript of a science fiction novel that has been haunting me since the fall of 2018. I have just begun looking for a home for it. (If you’re curious, you can find details of the other novels here.) I’ve also been working intensely on a nonfiction / academic monograph entitled Wilhelm Reich versus The Flying Saucers which is under contract with Punctum Books. That manuscript is a hybrid of biography and psychological theory concerning the last seven years of Wilhelm Reich’s life and work, particularly concerning UFO and climate phenomena, and the nature of the WR myth.
And in the meantime, during the last 10 months, I’ve been writing poetry for the first time in many years. The poems that resulted from that are collected in The Holly King: 28 Poems, which I am publishing in October with Stalking Horse Press. The collection will be published in a strictly limited edition of 126 signed and numbered copies (26 A-Z, and 100 serial) and will not reprint after those are sold. The collection includes nature poems, psychic poems, and experiments. The book ships free within the United States. If you’d like to pre-order a copy (or if you’re reading this after the start of October) please use the link below - the book will not be available via Amazon or other retailers, just directly from the press:
for some reason the title of your collected poems The Holly King reminds me of The King In Yellow. probably the use of the word king I suppose. I pre-ordered and look forward to receiving the book.
anyway I could read a poem or two before purchasing the collection?
